
The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. Williams Bros. Co. manufactured several variants of fighting knife for private purchase during World War II. This is a great example of the 2nd variant, with:
WILLIAMS
S.F.
BROS. CO.
On one side of the blade. The blade is a Bowie-style, measuring 6” in length. The company was based in San Francisco, hence the S.F.. This knife is described on page 302 of M. H. Cole's Book "The Best of U.S. Military Knives".
The stacked leather grip is in great condition with red spacers at the top and bottom. The crossguard is a little loose. The knife comes in its original leather sheath with the securing snap still retained.
A good example of a scarce private purchase knife, ready for further research and display.
