The Story
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a stellar Vietnam War NVA/VC issue grenade with the head being a pineapple style. The shaft is removable and the bottom cap of the grenade is intact, rare to see. Interestingly, there is a reed which has been twisted around and wrapped around the pineapple head to keep it attached to the shaft. These are becoming increasingly more difficult to find. Like all deactivated ordnance, this grenade is Not Available for Export.
A standard of the Vietnam War, this is the typical pattern of NVA / VC short-handle "pineapple" body stick fragmentation grenade. The grenade is in fine to excellent condition, with both the body and stick very clean. The body is not currently attached to the stick with nails, and appears to be kept in place by wedging and the reed. The stick retains the wooden plug, which is often lost, and still has the string inside.
The grenade measures 6 1/2 inches in overall length. This is a scarce example to find, and comes ready for further research and display.
