The Story
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a great well-worn set of Japanese army officer binoculars in the original tropical carry case, offered in great condition. The binoculars are fully functional, with each side having an independent focus control. Optics are mostly clear, and able to focus accurately. These bear the marking for Chiyoko. They were a major producer of binoculars during WWII. The Binoculars also bear serial number No. 4207. Overall condition is good, though some of the plastic covering of the binoculars has cracked off due to deterioration of the plastic. The neck strap for the binoculars is gone, but the case retains its complete canvas carrying strap.
The front of the case bears Kanji characters which translated to the name Hayabusa Rokugo, but this may not be accurate. The neck strap for the binoculars is gone, and the securing strap for the case is broken off and gone.
The case is of the painted canvas type, common for tropical use, and is in good condition for the age of the piece. It shows wear to the pain on the edges of the case, which is the usual wear point. The shoulder strap is of canvas and is in great overall condition with some staining and weak points.
A fantastic set with great research potential. Ready for further research and display.
