The Story
Original Item: Only One Available: This is an excellent condition genuine WWII Italian 2 bronze band strap visor hat, indicating the rank of Tenente, or Lieutenant. The front of the cap has a lovely hand-embroidered bullion badge, showing a crown over crossed rifles with numerals “56” in the center, denoting either the 56th Infantry Regiment or the 56th Infantry Division "Casale".
The cap is in outstanding condition with the visor and chinstrap both in good shape, the latter being held in place by two Italian Infantry buttons. The Tenente (Lieutenant) cap band is in great shape with some staining, and the cap is virtually free of moth nips that we can see.
The underside of the visor is in good order with just crazing of the leather. The interior shows a gorgeous retained sweatband. The celluloid sweat shield is intact but bent in the center, with the maker’s information reading:
UNIONE MILITARE
UDINE
The visor is a great example and is roughly a Size 6 5/8.
One of the nicest Italian visors we have had. Ready for display!
