The 8 x 11½” hardcover book contains 8 color photo pages and 84 pages of German language text by German Navy historian and author Korvettenkapitän der Reserve Fritz Otto Busch about this history of the German Navy, troop increases and detailed information about new vessels added to the fleet since 1933 and the war at sea.
Among the 84 photo cards (sets had 100 photo cards but this one is missing 16) are view of battleships, cruisers, destroyers, torpedo boats and minesweepers patrolling the English Channel, camouflaged transport ships in Scandinavia, weapons aboard miscellaneous Kriegsmarine vessels, crew members aboard ship (training, cleaning, cooking, baking, eating, exercising, etc.), airplane landing on a battleship, preparing torpedos to battle the enemy.
Text in German. Some age toning to outer edges of leaves. Overall very good condition but spine is splitting. None of the photos are in order but they appear to all be retained.
The effect of viewing the images through the special viewer is wonderful. The early days of 3D. A truly rare and wonderful piece of Kriegsmarine ephemera.
