Original Items. This is an outstanding lot of autographs consisting of a staggering ten items.
The lot includes:
- 8 x 10½” “US ARMY Silver Eagles” photo signed by seven members of the Silver Eagles. They were the US Army Aviation Precision Demonstration Team. Great shot with good research potential.
- 7 x 8½” letter signed by Major General George S. Patton (Patton IV, General Patton’s son). Dated September 8th, 1978.Â
- 3¾ x 4½” photo of General William Westmoreland dated 1979 with accompanying letter asking Westmoreland for signed photo.
- 8 x 10½” Letter on Secretary of the Navy letterhead signed by James Forrestal, the first U.S. Secretary of Defense. Dated December 28th, 1945.
- 4 x 8” card with photo of Siegfried Westphal, a German WWII General in the Wehrmacht. The card is signed at the bottom “With compliment for Mr. Ray Long” but the actual signature on the photo is not real and is a copied photo. The bottom text was likely signed by Westphal, but we can’t say for certain.
- Signed Photo and letter from Secretary of State Alexander M. Haig Jr., letter dated August 21st, 1980. Letterhead is for United Technologies.
- 5½ x 10½” card signed by President Gerald R. Fold, 38th President.Â
- 8 x 10” Signed Photo of U.S. General Lauris Norstad.
- 2½ x 4½” signed card of the President of the Philippines Carlos P. Garcia, for Mr. Donmoyer on his birthday.
- 6½ x 10¾” print-out with photo from Watergate trial signed by John J. Sirica, a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, where he became famous for his role in the trials stemming from the Watergate scandal. Comes with an envelope addressed to Ray Long from Chambers of Sirica.
