Original Item: Only One Available. This is a great circa 1880s Infantry Regiment shako. It has a blue faded felt body with a white band and a leather front visor. Patent leather chinstrap. Gilt Infantry side buttons. We believe it to be for the Maryland Militia due to the maker's mark, but we cannot say for certain if it was meant for the Maryland Militia.
This example has a crossed rifles pin stitched to the front with a green/blue plume which is still removable. The shako has kept its form very well!
The interior shows an intact sweatband which is still well-attached, and a maker’s mark for Oehm & Co. of Baltimore, Maryland. There is a very faint size tag retained as well, for 7 ⅛.
Comes ready for further research and display!
